　　Describe a well-known person. You should say:

　　Who he/she is?

　　What makes him/her famous?

　　Why you admire him/her.

　　I want to talk about Bill Gates. I admire him most not because he’s the second richest person on the planet, but because who he is and what he has done. Bill Gates is one of those geniuses that bring possibilities and conveniences into people’s life. As the President and former C.E.O of the world’s largest software company, Bill Gates really changed everyone’s lives in almost every aspect. He and his team are still dedicated to making the computer operating system more powerful and easier to use. We can not measure his contribution to modern human society. He’s a technology whiz and a successful businessman. It’s amazing that he’s still greatly responsible for the society. The foundations and many other charity associations that he and his wife run are helping thousands of people out of poverty, make them able to receive education and to become healthier. He’s a dynamo of ideas and always thinks ahead of other people. His vision for what future computer systems should be like dazzles us. I really like the version of Windows system, windows XP. It looks better, and user-friendly. So success in business, a good heart and great creativity are reasons why I admire him most.

　　I want to talk about Qi Gong, who used to be one of the greatest calligraphers in the 20th century in China, and he passed away 3 years ago. My grandma is an art lover, and she still has a picture of this old gentle and elegant person with kind smile on his face all the time. As the chairman of Beijing Calligraphers Association, he took much more cares of all the members than of himself. Also, he was so warm-hearted that he held exhibitions twice a year and donated all the revenues to charity. Actually, Chinese were proud of him because he won the honor every time when invited to communicate with calligraphers in other countries. His biggest aspiration was to spread Chinese culture among the world and to make foreigners understand Chinese culture better. Moreover, I want to be a great person like him and have some achievements as well in my life.

　　Today I am going to talk about a great leader in sports, Michael Jordan. He is so famous that he is known by almost every young person. I first heard of his name when I was in high-school. At that time, he led his team and took the throne of the NBA national championship for the fifth time. I admire him not only because he is a great player but also because I‘ve learned a lot from him. First, he is a great team leader, a team person. I’ve learned from him that in order to be truly successful in my life, I need to build a strong team, draw on its strength, and lead the whole to a greater height. I can’t be a lone-ranger. Second, Jordan has shown his great charisma as a leader. That people, even his opponents, respect him and admire him, teaches me that I must become a person that people follow not because of what I do or have done, but because of who I am.

　　The famous person I would like to describe is Guo Jingjing. She is the gold medalist at Beijing Olympic Games. In fact，She has four gold medals. She won them in the diving competition. I think she must be blessed by god to be able to dive so perfectly. After all, most divers have been trained in diving schools that are very sophisticated, but her training was not so privileged, she just worked hard and had a very strict coach. The reason why I admire her is the great efforts she made. Guo’s retina was damaged when she dashed against water from the 3-meter diving board, and damage reduced her vision.
